This model was rated the best CPAP machines in 2017. Let’s explore the reasons why…
The AirSense 10 CPAP is a simple product that has all the features that you will need. Let’s explore the key features…
The AirSense 10 models boast of the AutoRamp technology. This feature enables the machine to sense when the user is awake or asleep, and when it senses that the user is asleep, it will increase to the full prescribed pressure comfortably. This setting allows the user to fall asleep easily.
The AirSense 10 CPAP Machine has a built-in heating plate so the water chamber can be directly attached to the machine for a minimal footprint. The humidifier can be set to 9 different settings: off, 1 (lowest level of humidification) to 8 (highest level of humidification). The ClimateLineAir is an optional integrated heated tube to retain the temperature of the whole air circuit. The Auto Climate Control mode will sense the room temperature and adjust the level of humidification delivered to the mask.
The SmartStart technology allows the user to just put on the mask, and the machine will start therapy as soon as the user starts to breathe. When the mask is taken off, the machine will sense that the user is not using the machine and turn off automatically. This technology is a step above from the “Start”/”Stop” button, catering to a user’s comfort and convenience once again.
The Expiratory Pressure Relief (EPR) carries out the right treatment for the patient during inhalation and reduces pressure during exhalation. Therapy is made more comfortable with this feature. Breathing out against full prescribed pressure can be uncomfortable, but EPR helps by lowering the pressure by a set amount on exhalation.
With this feature, you can access therapy data and be able to troubleshoot remotely with the remote access feature. You can now connect to ResMed’s new cloud-based management system (AirView) with the built-in wireless technology and be able to change the machine settings and troubleshoot remotely.
There are a lot of great, advanced CPAP machines on the market. Here is how the AirSense 10 compares…
The DreamStation is the AirSense 10’s close competitor in CPAP machines. ResMed and Philips Respironics are the two heavyweight CPAP therapy product manufacturers and are in a constant battle to release the better product. Both of these machines are top of the line and have similar specs and features. However, the DreamStation Pro does weigh more, is slightly louder, and does not have a built-in humidifier. On the other hand, AirStart 10 CPAP doesn’t have extensive data tracking capabilities – which is pretty important if you want to make progress in your therapy.
This model is a step down from the Pro but is also a bit cheaper. It also has pressure relief technology but is also louder, heavier, and does not have a built-in humidifier compared to the AirSense 10 CPAP. Again, the AirSense 10 lacks extensive data tracking capabilities.
At $279, this model is significantly cheaper than the AirSense 10. It’s slightly lighter and has a built-in humidifier. With its lower price, it lacks some settings in comparison to the AirSense 10, such as the AutoRamp and the SmartStart.
